Italian Dream, Alfa Romeo GT

It had the looks of an exclusive Grand Tourismo suited for the streets of Monaco. The name is GT and it’s build by the famous Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo.

The car has such a beautiful line that it caught all the looks on the street. This design is signed by the famous Italian creator Bertone.

With this car you will be seen by the German competition strangely and you will feel the sensation of driving a Ferrari and everybody else are just poor peasants. At the first touch the car almost send us a feeling of racing pedigree.

At the steering wheel the right feeling comes back and tells us this car is not a joke. The leather seats are signed by Recaro and the sound system is made especially for this GT by Bose.

The dashbord is borroved from the comopact Alf Romeo 147 and the quality of the materials are not so good. Even tough the cabin of the new GT is a pretty nice place to spend your time.

ENGINE

Under the long hood we requested from the importer Autoitalia that this car to be equipped with the last generation of diesel engine Multijet. This power plant has only 1.9 liter but delivers an amount o power of 150 hp. The torque of this engine is 320 Nm available under 2.000 rpm.

The gearbox is a manual 6 speed and delivers the power to the front wheels quite good. We could say that if you want to grab a sporty style the engine and the transmission will help.

The first four gears are closely synchronized and deliver linear power when it is required. The six speed is for the long highway driving. For that we could say that at 160 km/h (100 mph) in the six gear the rev counter stays around 2.500 rpm.

If you go faster lets say 180 km/h the revolution of the engine are at 3.100 rpm. At 4.500 rpm the red line for this engine the maximum speed passes 200 km/h (125 mph) mark.

The fuel consumption of this car is normal for it’s engine and stays at 5.6 liters at 130 km/h cruising and 8.7 liters at a constant speed of 180 km/h.

CONCLUSION

The most amazing thing about this car is not only the looks of the good fuel economy but the fact that this car could take any turn at very high speed. This is due to the sporty chassis and the sport running gear. This car could make some turns at over 160 km/h with no problem. The tires made by Pirelli helped because they ware Pirelli P Zero Rosso ZR.
